Pay scale; Dependant on qualifications and experience £30,000 - £32,000

Location - Dolygaer (CF48 2UR)

We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic individual to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the outdoors and adventurous activities, holding multiple recognised qualifications across various disciplines.

The role requires a minimum of five years of experience in the outdoor sector, with at least three years in team management, including developing programs and writing rotas. A proven track record in managing and developing outdoor and adventurous activities is essential. Ideally, the candidate will have an established presence within the industry, ensuring personal credibility.

Located in the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park, Parkwood Outdoors Dolygaer is a multi activity centre that aims to deliver fun, educational and high quality services to our customers. Parkwood Outdoors Dolygaer facilities and services provide a diverse range of activities to suit most ages and has 3 different types of 3 and 4 star built accommodation to sleep up to 80 people, camping pitches and glamping facilities. There is also a classroom, reception area with small cafe and 14.5 acres of land nestled in the National Park.

We work closely with our sister centre now managed under Parkwood - Plas Menai, The Welsh National Centre.

You will focus day to day on the following tasks:

  • Deliver and organise the daily activities at the Outdoor Centre

  • Ensure all customers taking part in outdoor activities will do so safely.

  • To develop a programme that will attract increased usage from the local community

  • Ensure financial procedures and policies are adhered to

  • To consistently improve the customer experience ensuring customers always look forward to returning after every visit.

  • Effectively implement and monitor the company’s Health and Safety policy, associated procedures and ensure full compliance with relevant safety requirements for all programmed activities.

  • Keep an up to date Papertrail and staff qualifications list.

  • Create a positive culture with staff and customers

  • Ensure that the buildings and equipment is maintained according to the requirements of the centre

  • Ensure the centre is compliant and adhering to the standards of external bodies and licences

  • To undertake any other duties as reasonably required by the Outdoor Centre Manager

  • Will be reliable and confident in making key decisions

  • Will be able to demonstrate excellent planning and time management ability

  • Will be able to proactively resolve day-to-day operational issues

  • Will be able to adapt the management style and thinking process to the needs of the business

  • Will be able to build strong relationships with customers, clients and employees.

  • Will be able to maintain and be committed to good employee culture and deliver quality training as required.

  • Will be able to meet the demands of the role.

  • Will be able to proactively demonstrate commitment to a health and safety culture.

  • Ability to drive - Ideally with D1 - due to the nature of the role

The nature of the post is such that the post holder is required to work irregular and unsocial hours including evenings, weekends and bank, public and other nominated holidays. Work patterns will require reasonable flexibility in accordance with the needs of the Centre.
