ABOUT THE COMPANY
Lex Leisure is a Community Interest Company (CIC) that has been established to build upon the legacy of two successful Paralympic games in London and Rio, the Invictus Games and other sporting events that have helped to inspire persons with physical, mental or health related inequalities to be physically active. Aiming to deliver high quality services to our customers, the Company also prides itself on its exemplary health and safety record and commitment to staff.
The RIC is a multi use venue comprising a range of Leisure facilities as well Conference/Event and Function spaces. These facilities are complimented by a Food & Beverage department including a public café and an event kitchen team.
Responsible to the Bar Supervisor, bar staff are key to the events business. Bar Staff, or a Bar Person, is responsible for serving drinks either at the bar. waiting on tables or drinks receptions. Bar Staff have a wide range of duties from preparing and serving drinks to engaging with customers and providing product recommendations.
Primary objectives for Bar Staff.
Preparing and serving high-quality alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
Using a till to take orders and process payments
Checking customers identification and age verification
Engaging with customers and advising them about current promotions
Maintaining a clean and organised bar area, including quickly responding to spills and other health and safety hazards
Monitoring and replenishing stock levels as needed
Clearing tables, wiping surfaces and operating the dishwasher to ensure ample glassware is available
Will ideally have experience in the events and/or hospitality industry, however training will be given
Customer service skills essential
Enjoy working with others and be able to cooperate as part of a team
Active listening skills and a good memory for remembering different orders from different customers
Calm demeanour to deal with demanding customers
Ability to carry out basic order processing and payment tasks on a till or a handheld device
The ability to work well in a noisy, high-pressure environment
Ability to multitask and remain organised during a busy period
Some positions are classed as a regulated post and therefore require a DBS Disclosure. Where the individual does not already hold a DBS Disclosure, it will be necessary for the post holder to be submitted for a DBS check.
