JOB DESCRIPTION

This is an ideal role for an individual who is motivated by cost saving for business and looking for energy savings and solutions, to reduce the energy costs and reduce carbon emissions. Primary objectives and responsibilities for the Energy Manager are:

Develop and implement energy cost and carbon saving strategies:

  • Assist with the implementation of the Parkwood Energy Strategy.

  • Manage the prioritisation of centres and arrange appropriate surveys for specific energy efficiency equipment.

  • Produce investment appraisals, prepare data and analysis for the submission of business cases in support of energy efficiency equipment as a result of survey results.

  • Interrogate the technical element of new proposals to ensure the savings figures quoted represent realistic engineering outcomes.

  • Monitor installation and performance of equipment and report on the same to ensure predicted savings are and continue to be made.

  • Visit existing energy efficiency technology installations and audit their effectiveness and make recommendations for improved use where applicable.

  • Review existing Building management systems and advise of any improvements/ new systems that could be implemented.

  • Ensure optimum performance of all existing assets, including on site generation, to reduce reliance upon the grid and deliver maximum carbon savings.

  • Perform or facilitate site audits and training for energy efficiency including making recommendations on general procedures, specific equipment/building operating improvements or equipment installations.

  • Assist with ensuring sufficient supply contract coverage for all metering points (NHH, HH, Gas, MOP, DCDA, Water)

  • Assist with validation checks of the energy accrual process, change of tenancies, as well as management of bill validation, invoicing disputes, metering disputes, third party tenant recharges and CHPQA CCL exemptions.

  • Assist with ensuring compliance with ESOS, SECR, PSDS and CHPQA mandatory requirements.

  • Lead on energy saving training, staff engagement and investment programmes.

.THE CANDIDATE

Qualifications and skills

  • Qualified in an environmental, economics or energy engineering related discipline.

  • You’ll understand legislation and compliance requirements for corporate energy management.

  • You will be proficient in using Google Documents and Microsoft packages including Google Sheets/Excel.

  • Must be eligible to work in the UK.

  • Full UK Driver’s Licence as the role will require travel throughout the UK

  • Knowledge of energy markets’ economic and political drivers is desirable, but not essential.

  • Membership to a professional industry body is desirable, but not essential.
