Part Time / 20 hours per week (Annualised) £10.42 per hour

 

Castle Theatre in Wellingborough is looking for an experienced Facilities Technician to assist in the running and upkeep of our busy theatre and arts centre.

We are looking for a motivated, conscientious and responsible individual to join The Castle’s team. The successful candidate will help to support the maintenance, repair and cleaning of this busy venue. You will have previous experience of caretaking, (or carrying out general maintenance, repairs, decorating, plumbing and electrics to a competent level). COSHH experience is also desirable. A high level of customer service is to be maintained at all times, as well as a positive outlook, and the ability to work flexibly, including unsociable hours.

Duties of the role

  • To assist in the building’s maintenance, repair and cleaning.

  • To assist the Technical and Building Manager in keeping the building safe & compliant.

  • To undertake and record regular, systematic checks (water temperatures, legionella, fire alarm, emergency lighting etc).

  • Liaising with contractors whilst on-site.

  • Maintaining health and safety records.

  • PAT Testing experience is desirable.

  • Must be able to gain acceptance and respect from clients and the teams involved

  • Must be able to build strong relationships with customers, clients and employees

  • Must have an independent, positive approach to problem-solving

  • Must have a good level of communication skills, both written and spoken

  • The role will include working at heights or in confined spaces within current appropriate legislative guidelines

  • Must be able to demonstrate clear identification with all customer requirements

  • Ability to work as part of a team, but also on own initiative

  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritise

  • An eye for detail with regards to the appearance of the building internally and externally

  • Numeracy, literacy and IT skills appropriate to the successful fulfilment of the post
