Based at our head office in Droitwich, our Finance department is on the hunt for a Finance Process and Projects Lead to join our central support team.  Our finance department has a proven track record for staff training, development and support and we offer free parking, flexible/hybrid working options and access to a local leisure facility as part of our generous package.

 

The Opportunity

 

We are looking for an adaptable experienced finance manager, with strong communication and change management skills to drive department process improvement, lead projects within the finance department and represent the team on company wide projects. Primary objectives and responsibilities will be:

  • Responsible for analysing existing finance processes, identification of weaknesses and driving through improvements to promote efficiency and effectiveness within the finance department.

  • Leading on internal finance department projects and wider company projects, such as:

  • Contract mobilisation and demobilisations

  • Operational business systems implementations, ensuring all finance requirements are met

  • Changes in banking arrangements

  • Oversee the Head of Financial Systems who is responsible for the finance system (E5), expenses system (Assure Expenses) and finance dashboards (google reporting tool) and provide support to the business in their absence.

The Finance Process and Projects Lead will focus day to day on the following tasks:

  • Support the development of policies and standards, department methodology and governance.

  • Overseeing compliance with internal financial controls, addressing issues as they arise.

  • Perform quality review control over business processes and activities including evaluation of the internal control effectiveness.

  • Support the development of business processes, risk assessment and documentation of key business processes

  • Act a Finance project lead on special projects, enhancements, business process changes, and accounting changes to evaluate risk and impact to control environment

  • Work with the Head of Finance Systems to implement control improvements to the finance software systems and improve reporting capabilities.

  • Regular liaison with the other support service teams, such as IT, marketing, sales, etc, to support wider business process changes.

  • Oversee the management of finance specific systems, providing internal support as required.

The Person

  • Preferably a fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or qualified by experience.
  • Well grounded in financial control.
  • Highly IT literate with experience of system configuration as well as implementation of finance and other back office systems.
  • Experienced in managing projects and being part of a multifunctional project team.
  • Able to demonstrate a track record of developing and improving processes, systems and controls.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills, including at senior level.
  • Ability to work independently, with a proactive approach to providing updates and feedback to line manager and a range of stakeholders.
  • Experience of delivering change that involves having to successfully influence various stakeholders.
