Food & Beverage Manager
Location: Pavilion Gardens, Buxton
Salary: £24,000- £27,000
We have an exciting opportunity for a Food and Beverage Manager to join our team at the prestigious Buxton Pavilion Gardens.
The Food and Beverage Manager will be responsible for managing all F&B operations and delivering an excellent guest experience. The successful candidate will be able to forecast, plan and manage all F&B orders, staff and finance. The goal is to maximize sales and revenue at the site and improve customer satisfaction and employee engagement.
Buxton Pavilion Gardens is an events and hospitality venue that hosts over 100 events annually, ranging from weddings, dinners, auctions, party nights and stage shows. We also have a number of food and beverage outlets with breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea served in the Pavilion Tearooms, our grab-and-go service in the Pavilion Kitchen, we also have an ice cream parlour and outdoor refreshments are served through our cafe van on the promenade and the lakeside kiosk. All of these venues will be the responsibility of the Food and Beverage manager.
Managing a team of strong teams including Catering supervisors, front of house staff, along with working closely with the site's chefs and KP's.
There will be no split shifts, weekend work is required but mainly between 9am-5pm, with the requirement to work evenings as and when required subject to events at site.
Role Responsibility
To supervise the day to day operations of all food and beverage outlets in order to maximise profitability in line with the company business plan.
To maximise the secondary spend opportunities where possible, maximising the potential of each outlet with good visual merchandising and sufficient stock to retail at the relevant outlet open at that time
To ensure the highest possible standards of Health & Safety and legislative compliance.
To coordinate and oversee each outlet and provide appropriate supervisory & direction, support, guidance and motivation and empower staff to ensure exemplary levels of customer care are delivered consistently at all times.
Will be required to cover operational rotas as and when required to ensure a consistent/seamless service.
Liaise with chef on duty to ensure seamless food service and ensure good communication with head chef to provide feedback on food service
Full responsibility for ordering, stock control , COSHH, Recruitment, training and coaching of your team.
Prepare the team rota each week and ensure sufficient levels of staff are scheduled to work in line with business needs taking into account staff requests
To deliver and coordinate a range of events throughout the year.
Leading the team with a hands-on approach when required.
Being present in our outlets and preserving excellent levels of guest service.
Involve and manage food and beverage promotions ensuring costings are accurate with achieving correct GP.
Identifying and maximizing up-selling opportunities for profitable sales growth wherever possible.
Report and liaise regularly with management team regarding departmental performance and ensure they are informed of any relevant information or issues
The ideal candidate
Previous track record of F&B management experience in a similar role.
Recognised F&B Service qualifications.
Good standard of literacy and numeracy, sound financial acumen.
Proven experience in using information and technology.
Demonstrable ability to lead by example.
Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement.
Ability to self-direct workload .
Ability to manage at multiple levels.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers, clients, and staff at all levels.
Good time management and organisational skills.
Ability to work well under pressure managing multiple workloads.
Ability to achieve and set standards and operate to performance criteria.
Knowledge of health & safety and food safety.
Able to demonstrate attention to detail and adherence to standards.
Flexible approach to role.
Desirable
Basic food hygiene certificate.
IOSH Managing Safely Qualification or equivalent.
First aid certificate.
Experience of delivering training using company guidelines.
Experience in working with point of sale systems.
Personal Licence (SCPLH).
