Maintenance Assistant PT - 30 hours

Penzance Leisure Centre

We are looking for a Maintenance Assistant to support our busy team in delivering an excellent customer experience in our facility.  You will be responsible for assisting with the day to day operational requirements and repairs that a busy leisure centre environment relies on.   Whilst this is a part time post, the hours worked are completely flexible to suit the candidate and can include early mornings, afternoon and evening work and occasional overnight shifts.

The Opportunity

  • Assisting the Compliance Manager in being proactive in monitoring the service and reacting to the required standards.  Liaising with contractors and  assisting with  the day to day maintenance around the building.

  • Assist with the monitoring of the Help Desk maintenance items to ensure compliance with the Contract.

  • To play a key role in maintaining the building's presentation, operation and equipment.

  • Develop and maintain good relationships with existing and new contractors when required.

  • Take responsibility for health and safety and actively participate in the maintenance and improvement of the overall contracts Health and Safety culture.

The Person

  • Ideally qualifications in the Building trade  or Facilities Management equivalent.

  • A proven track record in maintaining facilities.  The post holder will ideally have experience in tiling, painting and decorating and general building maintenance..  

  • Good written and oral communication skills
