Our dynamic in-house team is responsible for marketing to a broad customer base across a diverse range of leisure experiences including health and fitness, golf, swimming, theatre, outdoor activities and heritage experiences.
The Job
We are looking for an experienced marketing professional to be at the forefront of local marketing campaigns; supporting, developing and implementing initiatives to drive brand awareness, customer engagement and ultimately business growth.
Working closely with the Senior Marketing Manager, other members of the Marketing Team, as well as key partners across Parkwood's facilities, you will be responsible for, amongst other things:
- developing and implementing cohesive marketing plans to drive lead generation, increase brand awareness, market share, and customer engagement across all channels, including online, social media, email, print, and events
- overseeing the creation and delivery of marketing collateral, such as brochures, adverts, press releases, social media posts, local publicity and promotional materials, ensuring high-quality and on-brand materials
- growing and managing Parkwood’s online presence, by writing creative content, adapting positive news stories from Sites, also facilitating photo and videography shoots, all to create engaging content to post on our channels and further engage local communities
- Developing an understanding specific audiences and unique value propositions of Parkwood’s facilities to enable focussed targeting

- Excellent attention to detail, especially with written and verbal communication skills, to both craft campaign messages, also to respond to comments and address customer enquiries promptly and professionally
- Excellent planning, project management and organisational skills; to deliver multiple projects on time and to a high standard
- Excellent people skills, enabling you to build successful relationships with key stakeholders to support them with promotional opportunities
- Ability to problem solve issues and overcome obstacles in campaign execution
- Up-to-date with key marketing trends; especially social media and digital advertising
- Ability to deliver feedback thoughtfully and receive it gracefully
About the role
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- Demonstrable and relevant experience, of two, or more years, in a similar marketing role, gained ideally within a fast-paced B2C business environment
- Strong knowledge of digital marketing strategies, platforms and tools
- Excellent analytical and project management skills
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
- Creative mindset with the ability to think outside the box
- Strong copywriting skills
- Able to work remotely; at home and on Site, using self initiative
- Must hold a valid UK driving licence, and have own transport; as regular travel throughout the UK is required (company expenses paid).
Desirable
- A recognised qualification in marketing, or a related discipline.
- previous content management system experience for updating the Leisure Centre web pages.
- Face to face stakeholder management experience
Primary Responsibilities
- Campaign Development: Support with the creation and execution of local marketing campaigns to promote the activities being undertaken by Parkwood’s estate of Leisure Centre, also their local community initiatives
- Planning: Develop targeted marketing strategies specific to leisure centres, focusing on local demographics, seasonal trends, and community needs
- Digital Marketing Campaigns: Support with the execution of campaigns across our social media platforms to engage with our community and attract new customers. Also support with paid campaigns, to boost online visibility, ultimately sales
- Social Media Advertising: Support with running campaigns
- Brand Guardian & Management: Enhance and maintain the leisure centre’s brand image, ensuring consistency across all marketing channels, and presence within the local Site and also local community where relevant
- Partnership Development: Build relationships with key stakeholders at Sites, also with local influencers to foster continued engagement and support for their initiatives
- Public Relations: Support the Senior Marketing Manager with press and social media relations and secure press coverage to raise awareness of the leisure centre’s activities and community projects
Creative, Analytical, and Technical Skills
- Ability to create engaging, unique campaigns and content, including text, images, and videos tailored to different platforms, to enable Parkwood’s content to stand out in a crowded leisure media landscape
- Performance Metrics and Reporting: Track and report on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and community initiatives to ensure goals are met and inform future planning
- Trend Awareness: Keeping up-to-date with the latest trends, tools, and best practices in social media marketing.

REMUNERATION: £27,750 per annum.
