Location - Dolygaer (CF48 2UR)
We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic individual to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the outdoors and adventurous activities, holding multiple recognized qualifications across different disciplines.
You should have experience of working with school children and be mature enough to adapt to a more varied client base. We are keen to hear from instructors who wish to develop their knowledge and skills set, whilst proactively developing our outdoor activity programme.
Located in the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park, Parkwood Outdoors Dolygaer is a multi activity centre that aims to deliver fun, educational and high quality services to our customers. We pride ourselves on our exemplary health and safety record, commitment to staff, commitment to customers and quality of our services.
Parkwood Outdoors Dolygaer facilities and services provide a diverse range of activities to suit most ages and has 3 different types of 3 and 4 star built accommodation to sleep up to 80 people, camping pitches and glamping facilities. There is also a classroom, reception area with small cafe and 14.5 acres of land nestled in the National Park.
We work closely with our sister centre now managed under Parkwood - Plas Menai, The Welsh National Centre.
The Opportunity
You will focus day to day on the following tasks:
To assist the team in effective day-to-day operations of Dolygaer programmes.
To deliver various outdoor activities to customers and guests as dictated by the programme.
Liaising with school staff to promote and develop good working relationships.
Ensuring that health and safety and best practice guidelines are adhered to at all times.
Timely fulfilment of all general centre duties as requested by management.
Completion of evening sessions at least once a week, however this may be more during peak season.
Transporting customers to and from activities using our 16 seater minibuses and smaller vehicles.
Attending training and courses which will help enhance the experience for children and young people linking activities to education and social learning.
On-call and emergency duties if deemed necessary.
Assisting with cleaning of the centre including showers, toilets, classrooms, buses and any other areas as requested.
Preparation of lesson equipment for sessions
Ensuring all equipment is returned to stores and located in its correct home, carrying out any cleaning required if appropriate.
All other tasks requested by the Activity Manager which are deemed necessary for the business.
Being proactive between sessions, helping to ensure that Parkwood Dolygaer has a culture of team-work and team support.
Be actively involved in creating a centre culture that attracts the best people in the industry to want to join us.
Ensuring clocking in and out procedures are followed daily.
Encouraging and supporting the progression of all junior staff.
Ensuring Continuing Professional Development by keeping abreast of industry best practice.
Ensuring all qualifications are current and relevant, including, where necessary payment of membership fees.

The nature of the post is such that the post holder is required to work irregular and unsocial hours including evenings, weekends and bank, public and other nominated holidays. Work patterns will require reasonable flexibility in accordance with the needs of the Centre.
