Parkwood Leisure is on the lookout for a Payroll Administrator to join our team. What You’ll Do

You’ll be the go to person for all things payroll related. Reporting to the Payroll Supervisor you will undertake general administrative duties and work collaboratively with the payroll team.

You will be responsible for your own portfolio, processing the payroll from beginning to end. This position is not a traditional payroll processing role, as you will be providing a payroll checking and advisory service to all levels of management, and employees.

You will be required to have excellent payroll knowledge and client relationship skills and an up to date knowledge of payroll legislation.

A snapshot of some day to day tasks:

  • Liaising and resolving data input errors with contract managers / administrators.

  • Checking data input to ensure accuracy and limitations fall within the company policies

  • Review and validate payroll inputs, including salaries, benefits, allowances and deductions.

  • Ensuring the payrolls are accurate and paid in a timely manner as per each individual company requirement.

  • Administration of Auto enrolment and other company pensions.

  • Providing help desk service to employees to register/sign in to the Self Service Portal

  • Ensure all payroll-related administration is actioned in a timely manner e.g. Earnings enquiries, DWP documentation and mortgage applications.

  • Administration of employee deductions and payments /documentation to the relevant bodies, i.e. Child Support Agency, Attachment of Earnings Orders, etc.

  • Adhere to the company audit procedure.

  • Managing the Payroll inbox, and resolving all queries within the stipulated timeframes

  • Complying with all statutory requirements, company policies and standard procedures.

  • Ensuring data protection and confidentiality is always maintained.

You’ll have

  • Strong understanding of statutory deductions, including income tax, National Insurance contributions, and pension contributions.

  • Ability to deal effectively with telephone and written queries from both internal and external agencies

  • Experience of preparing payroll for a number of internal clients and the ability to work with multiple stakeholders

  • Proficiency in  using payroll software ideally PeopleXD for end to end payroll processing.

  • Excellent communication and numeracy skills

  • Understanding of data protection regulations and confidentiality requirements in handling employee information.

  • Ability to work within tight deadlines and to set procedures

  • Diplomacy, confidentiality, and a customer-facing approach are essential.
