Front of House Assistant

Full Time and Part Time positions available

The role of Plantasia Assistant is a good position to be able to carry out and be involved in the full range of services offered at Plantasia. Continually customer facing, the role provides rewarding opportunities. Meeting new people, variation in both activities and learning provides an exciting and motivating experience on a daily basis. .

The Opportunity

The Plantasia Assistant will focus day to day on the following tasks:

• To guide, care for and assist all visitors and customers at Plantasia

• To facilitate a friendly but efficient working relationship with customers and visitors .

• To work as part of a team to achieve the objectives and usage targets at Plantasia .

• To innovate ideas and initiate action to increase the usage at Plantasia .

• To ensure all facilities are presented to the highest levels of cleanliness and comfort.

• Assist the Duty Manager in the effective control and security of the facility at front of house and when working in the hothouse or other location within the attraction including ensuring that equipment is stored safely and securely

• To be aware of all aspects of Health & Safety that relate to the individual, the role, and the centre constantly implementing appropriate

procedures and drawing to managers attention any unsafe practices.

• To undertake all duties associated with Front of House, including Admissions, Retail, Cafe processes and Cash Handling.

• To undertake duties linked to the cafe, including preparing and cooking items from the menu.

• To assist with animal handling and guest education where deemed appropriate.

• To cover duties of such other members of staff as required, including basic gardening, basic animal care, and interactive events such as animal handling.

• To undertake any other duties as may be required to assist in the running of Plantasia .

• Portray a positive image of Plantasia wearing the uniform provided whilst on duty.

Qualifications

The post holder should have a good general education and a desire to achieve appropriate management and development qualifications.
