Casual - with the opportunity to become contracted
We are looking for a Swimming Teacher to promote our Swimming Lesson brand, deliver engaging swimming lessons to all ages and abilities and provide exceptional customer service standards.
Primary objectives for the Swimming Teacher will be:
- To ensure the successful delivery of the Learn to Swim programme in line with company policy and Swim England Learn to Swim framework.
The Swimming Teacher will focus day to day on the following tasks:
To ensure teaching, customer care and health and safety standards are maintained in line with company policy.
To maximise the retention of swimming lessons participants through quality standards, motivation and customer care.
To ensure strong communication links between yourself, the swim manager, reception and duty management.
To deal with customer enquiries, feedback and concerns.
To deliver group and one to one lessons to a variety of ages and abilities as part of our Learn to Swim Programme, following the Swim England’s Learn to Swim Framework.
To deliver at least 1 crash course during the year within our Learn to Swim Programme
To deliver high quality lessons inline with the companies expected standards and schemes of work
To deliver the companies internal water safety competencies “Swim Safer, Smarter, Stronger”
To deliver both in and out of the water, providing explanations and demonstrating appropriate swimming techniques for skill level.
To carry out continued assessments and update the child's progression via the tablet after each lesson.
To adhere to all health and safety protocols as stipulated in the company's policies and procedures.
Must hold a NRASTC qualification and lifeguard own sessions when subject to local NOP/EAP.
To continue your professional development through various CPDs hosted by the company.
The Person
Our swimming lessons are based on the Swim England Learn to Swim framework and it is desirable to hold an SEQ Level 2 Swimming Teaching qualification or equivalent. Candidates with an SEQ Level 1 Assistant Teaching qualification will be considered with a view to train to complete your SEQ Level 2 Swimming Teaching qualification.
The NRASTC or NPLQ qualification is desirable but successful applicants will be provided with full training in all aspects of the role. The position is subject to a DBS check.
Will be able to communicate well with both children and adults in a teaching setting.
Will be able to gain acceptance and respect from colleagues and customers.
Will be able to meet the demands of the role by having some flexibility in their working hours when required.
Will be passionate about always looking for ways to improve our swim lesson programme and better our service to swimmers and customers
DBS
The position of Swimming Teacher is classed as a regulated post and therefore requires a DBS Disclosure. It will be necessary for the post holder to be submitted for a DBS check
